Health and Social Care

As a Health and Social Care student at Dearne Valley College, you’ll be a member of a growing community of like-minded classmates in fantastic facilities tailored so that you can learn all the academic and practical aspects of your chosen industry sector.

Equipment

You’ll have access to equipment that helps you develop the in-demand skills needed to make a difference to someone’s life. You will learn in dedicated learning environments fitted with industry-standard equipment including hospital beds, CPR training mannequins, blood pressure testing, anatomy and physiology models, medical equipment, and infection prevention and control tools.

Skills students will learn

We offer the chance to build skills right up from Level 1 to Level 3 via our Health and Social Care courses. On them, you’ll be able to develop skills in understanding what produces a healthy and active lifestyle, including personal progression plans, and key anatomy, physiology, and human development alongside nutrition. Tied into all of this are skills you’ll learn about effective communication and professional practice, ensuring that you can provide the best service for your patients.
