Celebrating Identity, Community, and Connection: Pride Month 2026
Pride Month 2026
June has arrived, and with it, a vibrant wave of colour, community, and celebration across our campus. Pride Month is always a special time for us. It has been a joy to see our community come together, not just to celebrate how far the LGBTQ+ movement has come, but to actively cultivate a space where everyone feels safe, seen, and celebrated for exactly who they are.
Over the past few weeks, our campus has been buzzing with a fantastic lineup of Pride-themed activities designed to bring people together, spark important conversations, and of course, have some fun.

How we celebrated
Our celebrations kicked off with a relaxing Pride Coffee Morning. There is something incredibly powerful about gathering together over a cuppa tea or coffee, sharing stories, watching a movie, and connecting with peers. It was a wonderful opportunity for students and staff alike to chat, laugh, and show solidarity in a warm, welcoming environment.
Injecting a bit of creativity into the month, our Pride Slime Making workshop was an absolute hit. The room was filled with laughter, bright colours as everyone crafted their own custom creations. It was a brilliant, hands-on way to express individuality and unwind together.
We also took time for deeper reflection by hosting a screening of a powerful LGBTQ+ Documentary. Watching the film together gave us a chance to honour the history, the struggles, and the incredible triumphs of people who fought for the rights enjoyed today. The discussion afterwards reminded us all why visibility and education remain so vital.

Living our values: The FREDIE Framework
At our college, inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword we use once a year in June; it is woven into the very fabric of our daily lives. We proudly live by FREDIE – the core values that guide everything we do:
- Fairness: Ensuring everyone gets the same opportunities to thrive
- Respect: Valuing every individual’s unique identity and perspective
- Equality: Breaking down barriers to create a level playing field
- Diversity: Celebrating the beautiful mix of backgrounds, cultures, and identities that make our community strong
- Inclusion: Ensuring that no one is left on the sidelines, and everyone feels a true sense of belonging
- Engagement: Working together, listening to one another, and constantly building a better community
By putting FREDIE into practice every day, we ensure that our college remains a genuinely inclusive environment.

A place to truly be yourself
We are incredibly proud to be an inclusive college. There is nothing more rewarding than walking through the corridors and seeing our students and staff filled with the confidence to be themselves.
Pride Month is a beautiful reminder that love, acceptance, and authenticity win. Thank you to everyone who organised, participated in, and supported our events this month. Let’s carry this spirit of pride, respect, and inclusion with us throughout the rest of the year!
