23 October 2026 • News

This October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our College’s Personal Development team and students came together to champion early detection and educate our community and raise vital funds for the charity CoppaFeel. Through creative learning and fundraising the college turned pink in support of a cause that touches so many lives.

Interactive Learning and Student-Led Discovery

Awareness starts with education. Throughout the month the Personal Development team facilitated engaging sessions focused on the importance of regular self-checking and early detection.

Rather than traditional lectures our learners took centre stage doing things like:

  • Interactive Board Games: Took part in board games that made learning about body awareness and health engaging and approachable.
  • Research Activities: Learners actively researched key statistics, warning signs, and checking techniques, developing their own knowledge while building the confidence to share these lifesaving messages with peers and family.

By fostering an open and supportive environment, these sessions encourage vital conversations around health, breaking down sigmas and ensuring everyone knows what to look out for.

A Sea of Pink and an Amazing £260 Raised for CoppaFeel!

Our College did a campus-wide fundraising day! Staff and students proudly wore pink to demonstrate solidarity and keep the conversation going throughout the College.

Our fundraising day was bustling with energy, featuring:

  • Delicious Baked Goods: A sweet array of homemade cakes and treats baked by talents staff.
  • Handmade Crafts and Goodies: Beautiful crafted items and unique goods available for donations.

Thanks to the incredible generosity and enthusiasm of our College community, we raised an amazing £260 for CoppaFeel! A national charity dedicated to ensuring breast cancer is diagnosed early and correctly by education young people on the signs and symptoms.
