Our Learning Centre is well-equipped with books, journals and newspapers, as well as computers, laptops and internet access. Study rooms are also available for individual, group or silent study spaces, and resources can be accessed at home using the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

You can also email the team for support, should you need it. Our knowledgeable staff offer a supportive environment, and will be happy to help you locate information and resources.

Aspirations Hair and Beauty Salon

Our on-site commercial salon, Aspirations, is a training facility for our hairdressing and beauty therapy students, but is also open to the public and to students for a huge range of hair and beauty therapy treatments.

Our Aspirations Salon offers a comprehensive range of luxury hair and beauty therapy treatments and services designed to leave you feeling suitably pampered to perfection, within a peaceful and tranquil setting.

Our friendly team of staff includes qualified professionals and therapists, as well as College students who are currently undertaking various hairdressing and beauty therapy courses.

DVC Sports

DVC Sports is our on-site commercial sports centre and gym that offers a range of cardiovascular and muscle strengthening equipment, a wide range of fitness classes per week, and supportive staff to help you reach your fitness goals.

The sports centre also includes a FIFA 2 star 3G Astroturf pitch, multi-sports cages and a sports hall, all available for hire. All students can benefit from discounted memberships.

The College Cooperative

Shop local! Our on-site shop stocks a huge range of locally sourced and ethically produced products, including eggs from hens farmed on-site as well as veg boxes containing locally grown salad and other vegetables.

We also sell a range of products made by the College students themselves including sweets and Dog Treat bags.

Manvers Waterfront Boat Club

We have great links with the Manvers Waterfront Boat Club, which is less than a mile away. Our students have the opportunity to use the excellent facilities as part of their course and get involved with activities such as canoeing, open-water swimming, mountain biking, orienteering, windsurfing, sailing and raft building.

Nursery

Students will have access to a private Nursery on campus.

Student Support Services

Whether it’s financial support, childcare information, learning support or simply a friendly chat that you need, our Student Services Centre is at the heart of the College.

The Student Services team will make sure that you have the support, information, advice and guidance you need to ensure your time at Dearne Valley College is as enjoyable as it is valuable.

Food and Drink

Dearne Valley College canteen serves a delicious range of hot and cold food and drinks for breakfast and lunch, with a variety of healthy options available, and vending machines are placed throughout the College buildings.

Student Social Space

Our new student social area located near the main College reception allows for more space for our students to meet with course mates between classes, additional work and meeting spaces and more IT facilities.

Space for Reflection

A quiet, comfortable room is available to all students for prayer or reflection.

Car Parking

You can access free car parking by picking up a permit at the main reception.

Wi-Fi

We have a free wireless network available for students to use while on campus on mobile devices and laptops. To access the service you will need to enter your College username and password. If you have any problems using the service please speak to a member of staff in the Library.
