The Level 2 NCFE Sport & Outdoors course is ideal for students who enjoy physical activity, the outdoors, and working as part of a team. It provides a solid introduction to both the sport and outdoor adventure industries, helping you build confidence, practical skills, and an understanding of how to plan, lead, and participate in sporting and outdoor activities.
This course is perfect preparation for progression to Level 3 study or starting a career in sport, fitness, or the outdoor sector.
You’ll take part in a range of theory and practical units designed to develop your knowledge, fitness, and leadership skills, inlcuding:
- Participating in sport and outdoor activities
- Health, fitness and lifestyle
- Planning and leading sports sessions
- Working in sport and the outdoors
- Personal and team development
- Outdoor and adventurous activities such as climbing, navigation, and water sports
You’ll also take part in off-site trips, outdoor expeditions, and work-related projects to gain real-world experience.

3 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including English or PE, or a suitable Entry Level or Level 1 qualification in a related subject.
A positive attitude and enthusiasm for practical sport and outdoor activities.
Willingness to take part in outdoor learning, including expeditions and team challenges.
