You’ll train in industry-standard workshops, focusing on safe working practices and essential installation techniques while building confidence using tools and equipment.
Evening sessions are designed to fit around busy adult schedules, and funding may be available to help support your learning.
You will gain practical confidence and knowledge in the following areas with Health and Safety embedded throughout.
* Identifying electrical components and tools.
* Understanding basic circuit theory and safety protocols.
* Installing lighting circuits and power sockets
* Cutting, stripping, and connecting PVC cables
North Notts College offers industry-standard workshops and tutors with years of “on the tools” experience. We prioritise flexible delivery for adult learners and integrate “Power Skills”—like communication and problem-solving—to ensure you are job-ready for future ventures.

Successful completion opens the door to:
· Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation
· Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation
· Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification: Installation and Maintenance (the core requirement for becoming a qualified electrician)
· Other trade-based courses within the Construction Industry.
On completion of this course, you will NOT be a qualified electrician. This is ultimately a preview into the electrotechnical industry. You can not be a practicing electrician without a Level 3 Electrotechnical Standard; inclusive of AM2S.
