Our Early Years and Education courses delivered at Rotherham College provide the skills, knowledge and practical experience needed to begin a rewarding career working with children and young people. Many of our qualifications can lead to a licence to practise within the Early Years sector.

You’ll learn in our specialist childcare and education facilities, including purpose-built classrooms and practical training spaces that simulate real nursery and early learning environments. These facilities are designed to help you develop the hands-on skills and confidence needed to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

We work in close partnership with local infant and primary schools, specialist schools, nurseries, children’s centres and childminders, ensuring you gain valuable first-hand experience of how to inspire children to learn, explore and be creative.

During your studies, you’ll explore topics such as communication with children and adults, child development, play and learning, as well as health, safety and safeguarding. You’ll also take part in practical sessions, including cooking for children, supporting care routines for babies and young children, and designing engaging learning activities.

With expert guidance from our experienced tutors, you’ll develop the professional skills and confidence to progress into work or further study in teaching, childcare or educational support, helping shape the next generation’s future.
