The NOCN Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is a teaching qualification for unqualified or prospective teachers of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
This is a level 5 qualification that would give entry to TESOL and does not require candidates to have prior teaching experience. It requires a combination of input training, teaching practice and independent study and is assessed through teaching observations and written assignments.
This level of qualification is increasingly the standard requirement for ESOL teachers around the world.
The delivery will include the following topics:

- Classroom Teaching Skills and Techniques
- English Language Awareness
- Learning Materials
- Planning Learning
- Theories, Principles, Models and Learning Processes in Education and Training
- Intercultural Awareness for Teaching Learning and Assessment
As part of the course individuals will be assessed through teaching observations so therefore require a teaching placement up to 8 hours.
You will be taught by industry professionals who will guide you on your journey to becoming a teacher of ESOL.
Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths or equivalent.
