Learners build knowledge and skills in areas including:• Supporting learning and teaching in classrooms and groups• Child and young person development• Safeguarding, health, safety, and wellbeing• Behaviour support and inclusion• Working with parents, families, and other professionals• Observation, assessment, and reflective practice• SEND support and equality and diversity.
Teaching staff have sector experience and links with local schools. You access practical settings and placements where you apply learning directly with learners. The course builds professional skills employers value in education support roles.
Learners need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths. Some providers recommend GCSE Science.
