T Level in Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning is a two-year, technical study programme, designed with employers to give young people the skills required in industry. The study programme will provide a mixture of technical knowledge and skills specific to their chosen industry or occupation and an industry placement of at least 45 days in their chosen industry or occupation.
Studying the Construction T Level, learners will be able to develop core skills such as communication, team working, reflective practice, research methods and presentation skills
Content Knowledge:? health and safety? the science behind building design, surveying and planning? making accurate and appropriate measurements? construction methods? building regulations and standards? data management and information standards in construction? relationship management and customer service? how the Internet of Things (IoT) impacts construction? digital engineering techniques? mathematical techniques to solve construction problems? construction design principles and processes? the construction industry and its role in the economy? sustainability and the environmental impact of construction? business, commerce and corporate social responsibility
English, mathematics and digital content are embedded and contextualised within the construction qualification content. Industry Placement – learners will be required to undertake an industry placement for a minimum of 45 days (315 hrs)

Five GCSEs at grades 4 or above including GCSE English, Maths and a Science

16 – 18 year olds Full-time students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.

Mark out and dig trenches for foundations and drains, lay concrete and put up panels to hold concrete in place as it sets, bend and fix bars to reinforce concrete structures and keep tradespeople on site supplied with materials.**

Construction Managers oversee building projects for quality, safety, timeliness and completion within budget.
Review building plans, hire staff and organise work schedules, ensure the site has the material its needs, monitor the timeline and cost of the project, ensure quality and health and safety is maintained throughout and report progress to clients.**
You could work at a client’s business or on a construction site.
