Esport is one of the fastest growing participation sports in the world. Esport is a fusion of gaming, business, events, health and wellbeing subjects brought together under one roof.

Our Level 1, 2 and 3 courses are a brilliant blend of Computing, Business Studies and Sports, so you’re equipped with the best chance for your dream career in the rapidly expanding Esport sector.

Esport allows you to express your passion for gaming and apply it to a multitude of roles within this developing and exciting industry.

Our programmes encourage you to develop skills in gaming and equip you with the skills for success across a whole range of supporting roles within the sector. Completing our Level 3 Access course also opens the door to exciting degree level studies at UCR. Core units of study at all levels include: Introduction to Esport, Esport Skills, Strategy and Analysis, Enterprise & Entrepreneurship in Esport, Health, Wellbeing & Fitness, Live Streaming, Branding, Social Media, Shoutcasting, Esport and Coaching.

Dearne Valley College invested heavily in new Esport facilities in order to give you the experience you deserve at College. Our high spec machines can run the most demanding of Esport experiences. This coupled with our retro console area, our motivational learning spaces and access to our gym and wellbeing facilities makes Dearne Valley College an excellent choice to pursue a career in this fast moving industry.

Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and Maths. However, should you not obtain the necessary grades in one of Maths or English then you may still be accepted if you have other GCSEs at grade 3 and above and are willing to resit. Learners with BTEC qualifications at level 1 and 2 in other subject areas will be considered on their individual merits.

You will study GCSE maths and English as part of your programme of study if you haven’t achieved a grade 4 or above and you are aged 16-18. You will also be required to purchase a uniform as part of your programme further details can be obtained at interview.
