Police Officers keep law and order, investigate crime and support crime prevention.
Patrolling public areas, responding to calls from the public, investigating crimes, interviewing suspects and making arrests, giving evidence in court, controlling traffic and crowds at large public events and gatherings and advising the public on personal safety and crime prevention. **

Firefighters provide emergency services in the event of accidents, help protect people from fire and other dangers and give advice on fire prevention.
Inspecting and maintaining equipment, carrying out practice drills, responding to emergency call-outs, rescuing people and animals, controlling and putting out fires, giving presentations to schools and community groups and inspecting buildings to make sure they meet fire safety regulations.**
