Information and Guidance

The college's Careers Advisors offer a free, confidential service to potential and current students thinking about progression routes or a career change. They can give information, advice and guidance on career development, employment and options for further study. The Careers Advisors work with both groups and individuals and are based in the Student Services Centre.

They can:

  • Offer individual advice and guidance about career goals, higher education and job search skills
  • Will assist you with the exploration of interests and abilities
  • Assist students considering university with their application process and conduct mock interviews once applications have been made
  • Provide advice for potential students regarding course choices and educational routes

The Connexions Advisor is based in the Student Services Centre for drop in sessions or by appointment.

The Connexions Advisor can provide confidential and impartial guidance on:

  • Choosing and planning a career path
  • Options if leaving college
  • Options and choices in college
  • Finding work or an Apprenticeship
  • Completing application forms and CVs
  • Interview skills and mock interviews
  • Offers individual and group support with career goals and progression from college
  • Offer assistance with personal issues such as: housing, drugs, benefits and relationships

Careers Library
Our careers library is located in the Student Services Centre and contains information on careers, employment, training and Higher Education (HE).

Rotherham Youth Enterprise
A Business Advisor can assist you with all aspects of starting-up and running your own business, such as: marketing, legal requirements, taxation, funding and business planning. The advisor is available by appointment (through the Student Services Centre).
