Student Union
Studying at DVC means you are entitled to join the National Union of Students (NUS).
Membership cards are available from www.nusonline.co.uk. This will give you a range of discounts on the high street, Internet and allow you to take advantage of special rates at the cinema and other entertainment facilities. Once you have applied for your NUS card, the Student Services Centre will let you know when your card has arrived in college. You will then be able to collect it from the Student Services Centre.
Student Activities
There are lots of fun college activities that you and your friends can get involved in, such as sports and fitness activities, social clubs and events, the Students’ Association and many, many more. You can take part in these activities at lunch time, in your free period(s) or even after college – it’s up to you!
Students’ Association
If you would like to make a difference during your time at college and would like to get involved in the college decision making process, then why not join the Students Association? Run by students, for the students, the Students Association is responsible for getting the voice of students heard, attending important college decision making meetings, planning and organising social events.
The Association is also a great way for you to meet new people and is valuable experience for you to add to your CV. To join, or for more information about the Association, please contact the Activities Coordinator.
Theme Weeks
Keep your eyes open for theme week activities relating to important issues such as Anti-bullying, Health and Environment, E-Safety, Diversity, Employability and Enterprise. As well as taking part in theme week activities, you can also get involved by helping to plan and organise them. If this sounds like something that you would be interested in doing, please contact the Activities Coordinator.
Student Ambassadors
Each year we recruit Student Ambassadors to represent the college at a range of events.
Working as part of the Marketing Team, Ambassadors give tours of the campus, hand out information and answer questions about what it is like to be a student at the college.
You will gain:
- £6.56 per hour
- Valuable work experience for your CV
- A chance to meet and socialise with a new group of people
