The Wath-based College is opening its doors to prospective students on Tuesday 24 January 2012 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm at the Manvers Campus.

Visitors will have the chance to look around the college, chat to course tutors and support staff as well as finding out about the many Apprenticeships on offer.

Apprenticeships through the College are available in the following areas; Brickwork, Business Administration, Childcare, Customer Services, Food Production and Catering, Health and Social Care, Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, and Tiling (Floor and Wall). Apprenticeships in Sport, Retail and Warehousing will also be available though the College soon.

A live job vacancy board will be available on the night to show which local employers have Apprenticeship vacancies.

Mark Hepworth, Assistant Admissions Manager commented:

“Deciding what to do next and indeed where to continue further study can be a difficult decision, we therefore have expert staff on hand to help young people make a decision as to where they would like to continue their studies”.

As the campaign for further education courses starting September 2012 gets underway, visitors to the Open Evening will get help with online applications and pick-up information on the many vocational courses and Foundation Degrees.

Dearne Valley College are now accepting applications for courses starting September 2012.

Further Open Evenings will take place at the Manvers Campus from 4.30pm to 7.30pm on: 22 February, 22 March and 15 May 2012.
