Date: 16/01/2012

The Wath-based College is opening its doors to prospective students on Tuesday 24 January 2012 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm at the Manvers Campus.

Visitors will have the chance to look around the college, chat to course tutors and support staff as well as finding out about the many HE programmes on offer.

DVC offer a range of full-time Foundation Degrees and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) in, Sports Coaching, Business and Management, Travel and Tourism Management, Business Information Technology, Health and Social Care, and Public Services. These two year programmes can then be ‘topped-up’ into a full Honours Degree at a number of universities, saving on the costs of moving or travelling away from home.

Andy Parkes, DVC Higher Level Skills Manager commented:

“As soaring tuition fees are hitting the headlines, Dearne Valley College has a ‘study local’ approach that enables students to gain a higher education qualification in the most cost effective way. As a vocational college, the programmes we offer are focussed on sector specific careers in addition to academic studies”.

If you already have a full-time job and are looking to study on a part-time basis, Dearne Valley College also offers Higher National Certificates (HNCs) in both Business and Public Services as well a part-time Foundation Degree in Early Years.

In addition to lower fees, students can also benefit from DVC’s excellent campus facilities, comprehensive student support and further bursaries which may also be available to fund those study essentials.

Dearne Valley College are now accepting applications for courses starting September 2012.
