Date: 29/08/2013

Dearne Valley College are launching a range of part-time foundation degree courses for students looking to gain high level qualifications, around their existing commitments!

The Wath-based College will be offering part-time foundation degrees in a variety of sectors, including Sports, Public Services, Travel and Tourism and Early Childhood Studies, alongside a number of ‘Access to Higher Education’ courses which will allow prospective learners to gain the skills and qualifications necessary to embark upon a degree course.

A part-time delivery means that students can work towards a high quality higher education qualification in a variety of subject areas, around their employment, hobbies and family, and any other commitments they may have. Students will also benefit from a team of industry-experienced tutors and dedicated higher education facilities too.

The launch follows the college’s recent collaboration with leading Higher Education institution, Teesside University, who will validate all of the College’s part-time and full-time foundation degrees, ensuring a high standard of education.

Dearne Valley College’s Higher Education Manager, Andy Parkes, said:
“The College are excited to be able to offer our Higher Education qualifications on a part time basis, allowing individuals, who might not have considered this route due to prior commitments, the opportunity to progress and succeed.”
“We are able to offer high level courses right on the doorsteps of local, prospective students and achieve the aim of making Higher Education accessible to all, and following the launch of our partnership with Teesside University, students can rest easy knowing that their higher education is of a high quality”.
