Dearne Valley College is launching a brand new course allowing prospective students to achieve the qualifications they need to pursue a higher education in Sport.
The Level 3 course, beginning in September of this year, will see it students work towards the Access to Higher Education (Sport) modules such as Sports Psychology, Training and Fitness, Nutrition, as well as other units specific to the sports industry The course will also aim to develop the skills required for higher level study, including research and referencing.
Curriculum Area Manager for Leisure Industries at Dearne Valley College, Amanda Inman said:
“We are delighted to add the ‘Access to Higher Education in Sport’ course to the College’s excellent repertoire of programmes in this department.”
“This course will allow students who didn’t make the grades for a higher education level course in Sport including mature students to gain the vital knowledge and skills required to progress to higher level education, such as degree. “
It will be available as a full time, 32 week programme, taking place on Wednesdays and Fridays, allowing learners the opportunity to gain a qualification relevant to their career aspirations, which also work around their existing commitments and responsibilities.
This full Level 3 qualification may also be eligible for funding, and further information can be provided by contacting the College.
