The Sport and Physical Recreation department at Dearne Valley College (DVC) is offering a prize to one of its students to substantially enhance their future career and employability prospects.

Kindly donated by Envisage, the prize consists of training to the value of £4,000, along with work experience and mentorship for one lucky student.

Envisage, deliver professional training courses to the health and fitness industry and are looking for a successful candidate to mentor, with the possibility of a job with the company at the end of their studies.

The coaching qualifications could include; Certificate in Personal Trainer, Exercise to Music, Exercise and Physical Activity for Children amongst others.

Dave Ireson, Partner from Envisage, commented:
“We continue to have a really good partnership with the College and through this we have grown and developed as a business. By donating this prize its one way we can give something back. The winner of the prize will be able to plan out a career in the health and fitness industry with our help by providing their training. Through our contacts in the local area we can also provide valuable work experience and some paid part-time work at DVC Sports. The prize will last for a year and we will mentor the winner throughout, to help them achieve the career they want”.

To be considered for the fantastic prize, DVC Sport and Physical Recreation students need to provide a supporting statement highlighting why they believe they would benefit from this opportunity.

Applications must be sent to no later than 4.00pm on Friday 27th April 2012. Successful candidates will be shortlisted and will be required to attend an interview for final selection.
