DVC Sports in partnership with Wath upon Dearne Rugby Union Football Club (RUFC) present a Rugby Rules Academy.
Taking place on Wednesday 15 August 2012 from 10.00am – 3.00pm at DVC Sports, the free session led by Leeds Carnegie, number eight player; Ryan Burrows will be an introduction to Rugby Union for 8 to 14 year olds.
Assisting Ryan will be Yorkshire under 20s Scrum Half Josh Bird and First Captain Matt Burrows.
Participants will learn basic rugby skills including rules of the game, passing and scoring. Most importantly they will learn the importance of team work and respect in a sport like rugby union.
Shaun Woodward, DVC Sports Centre Assistant Manager, commented:
“This is a great chance for 8-14 years in the local community to find out more and get involved in rugby union”.

“We are delighted to be working with DVC Sports on the Rugby Rules Academy. We’re always looking for future rugby superstars….could one of them be you?”.
Participants are asked to bring suitable clothing, waterproofs and footwear, a packed lunch and a drink.
