Joe from Thrybergh competed in Barcelona in the UIBBN (International Union of Natural Bodybuilders) World Body Building Championships in November where he was awarded runner up in the international competition.
Currently studying the Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching (Performance and Participation) at the Wath based college. Joe has been training since he was 16 for fitness purposes but soon found he was eager to compete on an international scale.
In such a relatively short time from January 2010 Joe has qualified and won various competitions, which allowed him to compete in the world under 21’s where he clinched the runner up position.
His Higher Education (HE) studies have helped him with his training as with the theory he learns, he then puts into practise. Units that he has studied include; Nutrition, Performance Physiology, Psychology, Human Performance and Antimony - all proving invaluable to his gruelling mental and physical training schedule.
Joe Lyon commented:
“My immediate aim is to continue my studies at Leeds Met University and become a physical training instructor for the forces. My other ambition is I would like to turn professional with the body building competing”.
The next competition that Joe is preparing for is the Yorkshire under 21’s in late May/early June 2011.
Joe is currently looking for sponsorship to help pay for training expenses, travel and accommodation costs. Anyone interested in sponsoring Joe is asked to contact Joe via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
