Dearne Valley College (DVC) is offering prospective students the chance to find out what college life has to offer.
Youngsters will have the chance to look around the Wath based college as the campaign for Further and Higher Education (HE) courses starting September 2011 continues.
On Tuesday 17 May 2011 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm at the Manvers Campus, visitors will have an opportunity to look at the excellent facilities, chat to course tutors and support staff, get help with online applications and pick up information on the many vocational courses, Apprenticeships and Foundation Degrees.
Even more importantly, youngsters will be able to enjoy a taste of what life as a college student would be like with campus tours and demonstrations.
The Public Services department will be staging a full crime scene reconstruction for teenagers interested in studying for a career with the Police and other uniformed services.
Other special tasters of college life will include beauty therapy demonstrations, a chance to try cooking with the college catering team and an opportunity to join the next generation of computer game designers with the Dearne Valley IT experts.
John Gray, Marketing and Customer Relations Manager commented:
“Deciding what to do after taking GCSEs and indeed where to continue further study can be a difficult decision, we therefore have expert staff on hand to help young people get up and get on”.
It’s still not too late to apply – the college is still accepting applications for many vocational courses starting September 2011.
