New Year, New Courses, New Opportunities

Date: 10/01/2012

Dearne Valley College (DVC) will be offering places on a range of courses in Hair and Beauty, Construction, Catering, Sport, Public Services, Travel and Tourism, Business and IT.

DVC is also offering two new exciting short courses to help young people get jobs:

Introduction to a career as an Overseas Resort Representative – this course introduces young people to the different types of Overseas Resort Rep jobs available and gives them an insight into all the skills and knowledge needed.

Pre-Apprenticeship Programme – the college has over 50 Apprenticeship vacancies – attend the course and learn about the skills required to be a successful Apprentice and we will guarantee you an interview.

Kim Shaw, DVC Head of 14-19, commented:

“By allowing students to start a course mid-way through the year gives someone a second opportunity. By starting at a later point in the academic year, potential students don’t have to wait until the next September intake”.

Currently not all courses are available, but the college is looking at ways to integrate this entry system into the normal academic year, so that students can infill at various points in the academic year, not just September.

Anyone interested is asked to contact the college Enquiry Line on 01709 513355.

Mid-way applications will be accepted up until the end of January 2012.

Open Evenings will take place at the Manvers Campus from 4.30pm to 7.30pm on: 24 January, 22 February, 22 March and 15 May 2012.
