Date: 27/04/2011

Fancy learning something new?

Dearne Valley College (DVC) has a wide range of new community courses which are due to start early May.

Many new and exciting courses have been added to the existing range available at the Wath based college from as little as £32.00 or free for the unemployed*.

Courses range from, Card Making, Creative Writing, Decorating Cakes and Cupcakes, IT for beginners, Spring Gardens and Web Design amongst others.

Taking place at various community venues in and around the Dearne Valley, the courses are aimed at anyone wanting to try something new.

Ranging from a short session to a ten week course, on various days of the week and at flexible times, the majority of the courses allow students to progress onto other courses and qualifications.

Jodi Greenhoff, DVC Employability and Skills Manager commented:

“Our new courses are intended to give students a flavour of a different mix of activities that someone may have never tried before or had the opportunity to try. The courses are to be delivered at various venues in the community to allow access for all”.
