Many new and exciting courses have been added to the existing range available at the Wath based college from as little as £10.00 or free for the unemployed*.

Courses range from a Beauty Taster, Holiday French and Spanish, Web Design for beginners to Jewellery Making and Creative Writing amongst others.

Taking place at various community venues in and around the Dearne Valley, the courses are aimed at anyone wanting to try something new.

Ranging from a short session to a ten week course, on various days of the week and at flexible times, the majority of the courses allow students to progress onto other courses and qualifications.

Jodi Greenhoff, DVC Employability and Skills Manager commented:

“Our new courses are intended to give students a flavour of a different mix of activities that someone may have never tried before or had the opportunity to try. The courses are to be delivered at various venues in the community to allow access for all”.

Places are also still available for the six week NCFE Mental Health Awareness Level 1 course starting on Wednesday 2 March from 6.00pm – 9.00pm.

Proving popular, this qualification is appropriate for people with an interest in raising their own understanding of mental health issues. It may also be particularly useful for those working within the voluntary and community sector and for others whose role calls for interaction with the general public in their day-to-day work.

Costing £135.00, this course would complement study in a range of areas, such as; Healthcare, Social Care, Counselling or Public Services.
