Dearne Valley College (DVC) has launched an opportunity for former Higher Education (HE) students to keep in touch with the college and each other.
The college has implemented its own free DVC Alumni scheme with added benefits.
The scheme will keep members up-to-date and in touch with college life and allow members to take advantage of the unique DVC Alumni benefits.
Members will also qualify for discounted gym memberships at the DVC student rate for use at DVC Sports on the campus of the Wath based college. Newsletters will also be sent to keep members up-to-date with what’s happening at DVC.
The cost of the Alumni membership is free, however £20.00 per year will be charged for the use of the Learning Centre service. A membership card will be issued to prove membership of the scheme.
Many universities and colleges have Alumni schemes to keep in touch with former students regardless of how long ago they graduated.
After studying and spending time at DVC, members who sign up whether past students have gone into employment, taken on further study or are doing something completely different, the Alumni membership will benefit all.
Through the Alumni membership members will have access to the Manvers Campus Learning Centre so having a quiet place to work and study, have access to text books, a PC and the Internet amongst other resources.
Andy Parkes, DVC Higher Level Skills Manager, commented:
“The DVC Alumni scheme aims to keep former HE students in touch with the college for any developments that could be of benefit to those students in the future. Although the scheme is in its infancy the college would like to organise and introduce other benefits from organising reunion events and the possibility of discounts off future courses”.
