Students from Dearne Valley College (DVC) have collected £69.46 for the military charity Help for Heroes.

Evolve students from the Wath-based College chose the charity and raised the money by holding a cake sale, raffle, tombola and a name the teddy bear competition.

Debra Sutton, DVC Evolve Tutor, commented:
“The students worked very hard to plan and arrange the fundraising activities to raise much needed funds for Help for Heroes. They worked well as a team and collected evidence for their portfolios”.

Kevin Mitchell, Volunteer County Co-ordinator South and West Yorkshire, collected the cheque on behalf of the charity.

Dearne Valley College are now accepting applications for courses starting September 2012.
