The college will open its Manvers Campus doors to allow visitors an opportunity to look at the excellent facilities, chat to course tutors and support staff, and pick up information on the many vocational courses, community courses, Apprenticeships and Foundation Degrees.

The fun day will be relaxed and informal with visitors having the chance to have a go at many vocational activities which will include; getting started with the Internet, massage for relaxation and mini-manicures, healthy cooking, a crime scene investigation display and how to run your own business amongst other activities.

Jodi Greenhoff, DVC Employability and Skills Manager commented:

“The family fun day is intended to give the local community an opportunity to try something new and give a flavour of a different mix of activities. We would encourage anyone to call in to see what that the college offers”.

Light refreshments will be available throughout the day and Green Top Circus Skills from Sheffield will provide circus themed activities to keep children entertained with juggling, plate spinning and diablo skills.

Dearne Valley College are now accepting applications for many vocational courses starting September 2011.
