DVC Sports is offering the local community a chance to try a new fitness class for free.

The Wath-based sports centre on the campus of Dearne Valley College (DVC) is offering the new fitness craze ‘Bokwa’.
Sessions taking place on Tuesday 3 and 10 April 2012, from 7.00pm until 8.00pm are free for sixty customers on a first come, first serve basis.

BOKWA, is an intense cardiovascular workout combined with South African war dance, Capoeira, kickboxing and steps. It is a very unique dance fitness programme due to the use of letters and numbers as placement combined with use of hand signals and American Sign Language. It builds strength and endurance driven by the pulsating rhythmic beats of African, Latin, Popular dance and House music*.

Adam Stancey, DVC Sports Centre Manager, commented:
“We would encourage anyone wanting a workout with a difference to try Bokwa and get involved for a different, alternative fitness session”.
The fitness event is open to participants aged 14 years and above.

Anyone interested in the sessions are asked to call DVC Sports on 01709 513315 to pre-book.

Participants need to bring with them suitable, comfortable fitness clothing and footwear and a drink.

DVC Sports Centre memberships are available from £17.00 per month, for further details contact DVC Sports on 01709 513115 or visit
