As part of the Doncaster Free Press and South Yorkshire Times “Best in Education” Awards, the Wath-based College has won the Green School award.
The ceremony took place at The Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster and was hosted by BBC Look North's South Yorkshire reporter Tom Ingall.
The awards, the first of their kind in the region, are to honour people who work within the education sector who have been nominated for their outstanding contributions, achievement, dedication and commitment.
Paul Edwards, DVC Head of Estates and Retail Services, commented:
“It was an honour to accept this award on behalf of the college and its Estates Team. Even though times are hard, investment in low energy – low carbon projects will create a greener planet but will also free up business finances in the future to invest in growth. The college is proud of its local roots and is totally committed in the role it plays in the future of the Dearne Valley Community and Dearne Valley Eco Vision Project”.
