Concert for Charity

Date: 04/01/2012

The 10 Skillbase students from the Wath-based College performed to members of the College Senior Management Team, their family and friends whilst collecting much needed funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service. A grand total of £80.00 was raised for the ambulance service.

As part of their Exploring Performance unit, the students intended to build their confidence through performance and focuses on teamwork, whilst working cooperatively with their peers.

On the day, the College’s own Hair and Beauty Therapy students helped the performers get ready for their debut by doing hair and make-up for the big performance.

Bernadette Garland, DVC Programme Area Manager for Care, Early Years and Access commented:

“The Skillbase students have worked really hard to put on the concert for a special cause. We would like to thank everyone who supported the group and for coming to see the final performance. I personally would like to thank other cross college teams for their support; it really has been a cross college team effort. Special thanks also go to the Hair and Beauty teams for their help with the hair and make-up”.
