Andy Parkes, DVC Higher Level Skills Manager, commented:

“As soaring tuition fees are hitting the headlines, Dearne Valley has a ‘study local’ approach that enables students to gain a higher education qualification in the most cost effective way. As a vocational college, the programmes we offer are focussed on sector specific careers in addition to academic studies”.

DVC offer a range of full-time Foundation Degrees and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) in, Sports Coaching, Business and Management, Travel and Tourism Management, Business Information Technology, Health and Social Care, and Public Services. These two year programmes can then be ‘topped-up’ into a full Honours Degree at a number of universities, saving on the costs of moving or travelling away from home.

If you already have a full-time job and are looking to study on a part-time basis, Dearne Valley College also offers Higher National Certificates (HNCs) in both Business and Public Services as well a part-time Foundation Degree in Early Years.

In addition to lower fees, students can also benefit from DVC’s excellent campus facilities, comprehensive student support and further bursaries which may also be available fund those study essentials.
