Art and Design students from Dearne Valley College (DVC) have exhibited their artwork at its annual Art and Design Exhibition.

Work on display at the Manvers Campus was contributed from students studying the BTEC Diploma/Subsidiary Diploma Level 3 and the BTEC National Certificate Level 3 (Year 2).

The students follow a broad-based course, learning to experiment and become creative artists. As part of the course the students use and work with various mediums throughout the year including; Computer Aided Design (CAD), textiles, three dimensional design and a range of traditional techniques drawing, painting and mark-making techniques.

Louise Heap, DVC Art and Design Tutor commented:
“All the students have worked really hard throughout the past year. To showcase their work at the college’s annual Art and Design Exhibition is a great way of allowing others to view their creativity and passion for art and design. The students are a real credit to themselves and the college”.

DVC are accepting full-time applications for many vocational courses starting September 2012 including a brand new Graphic Design course.

New for September 2012 the Wath-based College is offering youngsters the opportunity to study a wide range of Graphic Design techniques whilst working in a modern, state-of-the-art studio using industry standard equipment and software.

Working with industry professionals at levels 2 and 3, youngsters will cover units such as: Materials, Techniques and Processes, Graphic Design Ideas and Concepts, Visual Language in Graphic Design, Technical Drawing Skills, Digital Media and Animation Techniques.
