Beauty Students Raise Over £1000 for Breast Cancer Charity!

Date: 28/04/2014

A group of Beauty students from Dearne Valley College are celebrating a successful evening of pampering at their on-site commercial and training salon, ‘Aspirations’ in aid of raising vital funds for the Breast Cancer Awareness charity.

As part of their event planning module, the Level 3 students organised a ‘pamper evening’ for guests, and sold tickets to raise money. The ticket included their choice of free beauty treatment, including a mini pedicure, mini manicure or express back massage. Also included was a glass of champagne or bucks fizz and a luxury buffet to take advantage of.

The students also invited other local businesses to showcase their products and services, with guests able to purchase their goods on the night, and there were also raffles and other fundraising activities taking place. Fellow businesses included Wath-based ‘Katie’s Cakes’ and ‘Crumbs etc.’ among others.

Speaking about the event, student, Lisa Turton said:

“I am so proud of my fellow students for putting on such as fantastic event, everyone who attended seemed to enjoy a bit of pampering whilst raising money for charity that is very much close to our hearts. We really wanted other local businesses to take part and it really felt like a community charity event!”
