Diamond Jubilee celebrations were in full swing at Dearne Valley College (DVC).

Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, Skillbase and Catering students hosted a Diamond Jubilee Fun Day at the Rockingham Centre, West Street, Wath upon Dearne.

Students dressed in red, white and blue were paired up in a DVC Jubilee Bake Off, where contestants were asked to make, prepare and serve traditional afternoon tea.

A plant and cake stall, tombola, a BBQ and traditional games took place at the Wath based College. Games included; apple bobbing, hook-a-duck and pin the tail on the donkey in return for a small donation.

Shelley Lawton, DVC Beauty Therapy Tutor, commented:
“The students worked really well together to raise money for charity. A good time was had by all and the Diamond Jubilee celebrations were celebrated in style”.

Beauty Therapy students also offered beauty treatments and face painting.

A grand total of £382.00 was raised for the military charity Help for Heroes.
