Over the course of two days, a team of eleven tutors from the Wath based college will attempt to climb the three highest peaks in Britain.
Starting on Friday 27 May 2011 and continuing through to Saturday 28 May the team will climb Ben Nevis at 1344m, Scarfell Pike at 978m and finally Snowdon at 1085m all within 24 hours.
The team are enduring this incredible journey to raise money for the special care baby units at the Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley Hospitals.
A number of the team completing the challenge have recently had children and the sports department wants to recognise this and raise as much money as possible for the hospitals in question.
Andrew Skiffington, Team member commented:
“The team have been in training for this challenge for some time now; the challenge will be tough for all concerned but rewarding to know that all monies raised will be donated to three very worthwhile causes in the local community”.
Anyone interested in sponsoring the team can do so by contacting Andrew Skiffington, on T: 01709 513333 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Alternatively, any donations can be dropped off at the Manvers Campus reception and will be gratefully accepted and added to the overall amount raised.
Dearne Valley College are now accepting applications for many courses starting September 2011.
