Date: 10/02/2015

Dearne Valley College is throwing open its doors to welcome young people from across the borough to try out their fantastic range of vocational courses.

The Rotherham-based College is hosting a half-term taster day on Tuesday 17th February, which will allow young people who are considering applying to the College to try out their courses, gain a feel for life as a College student, and sample the fantastic teaching facilities whilst meeting prospective Tutors.

The College offers a wealth of vocational courses within areas such as Hair and Beauty, Business, Construction, Engineering, Catering and Hospitality, Public Services, Care and Early Years, Sport and much more.

A spokesperson for the College added:

“We know that young people face a huge decision when embarking upon their next steps after school which is why we run events such as our taster day. It gives school leavers the opportunity to experience life as a Dearne Valley College student and make an informed decision about what area they would like to study or pursue a career in.”

Attendees will be able to take part in a taster session in two of their subject areas of choice, whilst also touring the campus, meeting other young people with similar interests and taking advantage of a variety of fun activities on the day.
