About This Course

This flexible programme has been designed in collaboration with employers, students and staff in the Tourism and Hospitality sector. It provides a robust programme to develop your skills and knowledge in the workplace and ultimately enhance the quality of the individual in preparation for a career in Tourism and Hospitality. This course provides students with an excellent progression into Higher Education and employment with a qualification that combines research, theoretical knowledge and work experience to offer a student a wide range of skills.

Course Summary

This course is composed of core modules, studying the key theoretical concepts which connect both the tourism and the hospitality industries, but also has optional modules to allow students to specialise in either tourism or hospitality depending upon their own career aspirations.
Year One:

Entry Requirements

  • 64 UCAS points with a Level 3 qualification e.g. BTEC or A Levels, in a related subject plus satisfactory references
  • GCSE Grade C in both English and Maths (or equivalent)

Students who can demonstrate academic achievement to a suitable level via another qualification route will be given due consideration.
This course involves possible contact with children or other potentially vulnerable client groups and, therefore, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check) is required for this course. Students should have completed this or be in the process of completing this by the time of enrolment.

The outcome of the DBS check can be discussed with the College prior to the student commencing the course. This is not a pre-requisite for entry but may restrict the type of work experience students are able to undertake. This will be communicated to students at interview stage.

What Can You Progress To?

The programme offers progression opportunities into employment or Level 6 top-up programmes. Learners may be eligible to progress onto a degree in a Tourism and Hospitality-related subject, such as:
