How to Apply

Step 1
Complete an Application Form

You can apply online by clicking here or you can complete the application form attached to the back of our Full-Time and Apprenticeship Guide and return it to the FREEPOST address.

All of our courses are listed on the UCAS Progress website. If you go to school in Rotherham, Barnsley or Sheffield you can apply directly to Dearne Valley College via this system.

Step 2
Attend a Pre-entry Interview and Initial Assessment

We’ll contact you to let you know the date and time of your Pre-entry interview which will include an interview with our trained Admissions Advisors and an initial assessment of your English and Maths skills – don’t worry this isn’t a test, it’s just so we make sure you’re on the right course and level!

You are welcome to bring along your Parents/Guardian with you as this is an opportunity to discuss your career aspirations and ask any questions you may have.

Step 3
Receive Your Conditional Offer

We will send you a letter with a conditional offer for a place at Dearne Valley College – this offer is subject to conditions such as exam results and references. We’ll also invite you along to any Taster events taking place throughout the year.

Step 4
Enrol onto your Chosen Programme

You’ll receive an enrolment pack through the post with the date and time when you need to come into College to enrol – this is when you get your student card and begin your journey as a Dearne Valley College student!

Step 5
We’ll see you at Induction!

During your first two weeks at College you’ll attend Induction classes and workshops to help you get to know your way around, meet your course mates and find out what’s available to you as a DVC student. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend the Freshers’ Festival!

We are here to help!
