Equality Duties

We are committed to promoting and celebrating diversity and equality of opportunity. We appreciate the benefits and richness that diversity brings to the college and want your time at college to be enjoyable, successful and stimulating. Racism or treating people badly because of their age, sexuality, religion, physical or a mental health difference is unacceptable. We reject any behaviour which allows this to happen.

Equality Policy

Dearne Valley College has an Equality Policy.

This document sets out our diversity strategy and shows how we will meet our legislative duties with respect to equality and diversity. These include the general and specific public duties outlined by the Equality Act (2010).

Our Equality Policy will bring together the work we have done to date, and set out our equality objectives going forward. The college has a comprehensive action plan for equality, which will be regularly reviewed and monitored, and we are carrying out equality analysis on key policies and procedures.
